We are giving a PhD course called Introduction to Programming Language Research (https://uppsala.instructure.com/courses/63966). The course aims to make PhD students familiar with some of the core programming language techniques and approaches. After this course, students will be able to read and follow current research papers in the covered areas. Additionally, students will practice reading and reviewing papers, and preparing and giving presentations. For more information, see the link above. The course will run roughly during period 4; the time slots will be determined based on the availability of the participants. The hope is to run the course as an in-person event, but online participation will be offered when needed or when the general situation necessitates.

The course only assumes knowledge of basic logic, but a introductory course on compilers is recommended. A basic understanding of structural operational semantics will also be helpful.
