What can social sciences and humanities contribute to the emerging field of planetary health? And how can critical perspectives on water-health relationships help address the looming health challenges of the 21st century? You are warmly invited to participate in this interdisciplinary symposium exploring how critical social science perspectives on planetary-scale transformations of water, through climatic changes, infrastructural expansion, extraction, contamination, and purification, are reshaping health futures in an unequal world. This symposium examines water-health connections through infrastructure, governance, and lived experience with empirical examples across the globe. Through dialogue across disciplines, the symposium seeks to reimagine how we conceptualize and respond to water-related health challenges in a rapidly changing planet.
